Is there a life -long life policy of death due to war or terrorist attacks?
ET wealth spoke to many insurance experts. Here’s what they say:
Secureo co-founder Kapil Mehta, Insurance Brokeing Firm says, “In the case of life insurance policies, most of them have the benefit of death and terrorist acts.”
Policy Bazaar Term Varun Agarwal says, “Most of India’s life insurance policies are caused by war or terrorist acts in India. These events are not usually excluded, which means that this is certainly for the benefit of death in such unfortunate situations.”
Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance Chief Anil Kumar Singh says, “Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance (ABSLI) has a difference in terrorist war policies or as a result of terrorism due to the difference in terrorist and terrorism. If so, the resulting deaths are usually excluded from the coverage. ”
Shilpa Aurora, co-founder and chief executive officer of the Insurance Samadhi, says, “Depending on the terms and conditions of large insurance companies, there are only three exclusions. Until 1, death has not been covered during war or terrorism, but there is no boycott today, but if it is at risk of fighting, if the battle is not declared, then it is at risk. Claims can be rejected;
Therefore, all insurance experts advise the policy holders to read the list of exclusion before purchasing a life insurance policy.
Are the terms and conditions of the same insurer’s different life insurance policies?
Agarwal in Policy Bazaar says, “No, terms of death due to war or terrorist acts are generally the same in the term and other types of life insurance policies. In the underwriting of the insured, it is usually coverage or excluding such reasons for death.”
Absley agrees, “No, terrorist acts are compatible with the terms of death and other life insurance plans offered by Absley. In both cases, death is covered by default due to terrorist attacks and no additional rider.
However, it may be that an insurer has included deaths related to war and terrorist acts, while the other insurer is not due to the differences in his undergoing policy. Therefore, it is important to read the policy conditions when purchasing insurance.
General exception in life insurance policy
When buying a life insurance policy, many people do not carefully read the lists of exclusion. Mehta says, “In general, the only permission to exclude life insurance is suicide in the first policy year.”
Agarwal says, “An important exemption in most term insurance policies is suicides within the first year of the policy. It helps to avoid moral risk except one year suicide and ensures the integrity of the insurance pond. Other exclusion may change, but deadly activity, criminal acts or abuse of foods.
Aurora says, “In the case of term insurance plans, suicides are the most excluded in the first policy year. According to section 45 45, claims are non-knit, pre-existing situations, the abuse of substances can be participated in criminal act, and one of the most common exclusions can be considered to be taken to review each of them.”
