All bikers will be coming from next year

The Anti-Lock Breaking System (ABS) will be compulsory for all two-wheelers sold in the country as part of the government’s proposed new security regulation. People are aware of the matter that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway is likely to provide notification on the issue soon.The purpose of this step is to arrest the high incident of motorcycles and scooters road accidents. This will extend the current ABS order-related models to only 150 cc, and in the entire two-wheeler section, which includes about 75% of the domestic market.

ABS has been designed to prevent wheel lock-up during sudden braking, which reduces the chances of skiding and crashing. This is achieved by pushing the brakes fast, stopping the wheels from skiing and allowing the driver to move around the obstacles.

According to the latest available government data, about 20% of India’s 151,997 road accidents were involved in 2022.

Rohit Baluja, director of the Road Traffic and Education Institute of Road Traffic and Education (IRTE), said, “This is a long-term solution.” Many pedestrians were suddenly breaking without vehicle control.

Although the benefits of ABS’s safety are widely accepted, government orders are expected to increase production costs for manufacturers, which are likely to be paid to consumers in the coming months. Analysts have raised the prices of access-level bike models from 1,500 to ‘Vehicle, 1, which is likely to cross the potential in the price-sensitive section.
